レッスンではどこにポイントをおいて指導していますか？
英語の授業には雰囲気が大切です。生徒は安心でき、落ち着けるような雰囲気があれば緊張せず、自然に英語で話そうとすることができます。笑わせること、やる気を出させること、その勉強をしやすい環境を作ることが大事だと思っています。
I fully believe that success in speaking English is heavily influenced by the atmosphere and environment in which it is learnt. If the student feels relaxed and comfortable they can feel free to speak naturally and without hindrance. I strive to create such an atmosphere within my classroom, and hopefully by putting a smile on their faces and harnessing their nature energy, my students and I can just naturally enjoy speaking in English together.
先生になろうと思ったきっかけは何ですか？
学生時代、私には素晴らしい先生が二人いました。数学と物理学の先生でした。その二人の先生のおかげで両方の教科がとっても好きになり、結局大学で数学と相対性理論を専攻するまでになりました。もしあの二人の先生がいなかったら、こんなにいい人生を送っていなかったかもしれません。私もこの二人の先生のように、子供たちによい影響を与えられる先生になりたいと思っています。
When I was a child, I was lucky enough to have two fantastic teachers who taught me mathematics and physics respectively. I cannot thank them enough for helping to development and nurture my love of both subjects, and I am forever in their debt for all that they did for me. It is thanks to them that I have found so much fulfillment in my life, without them I don't think I would be half the person I am today. I aspire to do the same for my students that my teachers did for me.
休みの日の過ごし方は？
色々なことを体験することを大切だと思うため、初めてのことにできるだけ多く挑戦しています。趣味は日本語を勉強したり、スポーツをしたり料理をしたりすることで、休みの日を充実して過ごします。
I spend my days off challenging myself to try as many new experiences as possible, studying Japanese, playing sports, cooking delicious food and spending time with the people I love. Trying to fit in doing everything I love is tough, and it means some busy days off, but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way.
どんな人になりたいですか？
今まで私は多くの尊敬できる人々と出会いました。私も彼らのような模範的な人間でありたいと常に精進しております。
I have had the pleasure of knowing many people that demand respect, but there have only been a few that have truly earned it. I want to be part of that minority. I want the people around me to look at me and see a person who they can respect for my work ethic and my inter-personal skills. The same goes for my students, I would like them to see me as a role model, and thus I will always endeavor to be the best role model I can be.
